Військово-мобілізаційний відділ

Since the founding of Ternopil Medical Institute in 1957, the persons obligated for military service, who worked and studied at the institution, have been being registered. Initially, they were registered by an inspector of the HR Department of the Medical Institute (M.V Belchykov).

Later, in 2000, the position of inspector for military registration and mobilization was introduced at I. Horbachevsky Ternopil State Medical Academy.

T.V. Mazurek, who had worked at Ternopil City Military Commissariat for many years in the past, was the first to take the position of a military registration inspector.

With the beginning of the military conflict in the Eastern Ukraine, new requirements for registration of servicemen were established, and the Law “On General Military Duty and Military Service” was adopted. In the implementation of this law, on September 1, 2015, the Military and Mobilization Department was established at I. Horbachevsky Ternopil State Medical University. O.V. Harach, Lieutenant Colonel of the Medical Service, a graduate of the Ternopil State Medical Institute in 1988, was appointed to the position of the Head of this Department.

Since its establishment, the Military and Mobilization Department has been monitoring fulfilment of military duty by the citizens of Ukraine, their observance of the rules for military registration, timely arrangement of draftees at the university for a certain period.

The responsibilities of the department are for awareness-raising and educational work among the students and employees of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University.

Today, the main tasks of the Military and Mobilization Department are: registry and analysis of resources for military service in the national timekeeping system.

The main duty of the Military and Mobilization Department of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University is keeping personal records of draftees and conscripts, who work and study at the university. In addition, the department keeps records on draftees and conscripts at the place of work or study.

The Military and Mobilization Department also ensures reservation of draftees for the period of mobilization and in case of wartime; provides a report on mobilization training to the corresponding public authorities.
